chasing the sunset.

this morning I eagerly greeted the sun and welcomed it into the hemisphere. we met full faced as I raced east to meet his stare, giddy with the fullness of expectation that we only realize one christmas morning in our youth is no longer there. it was a day full of moments in time, not just time passing, they were belly fulls, each one leaving me with the sensation of having just eaten my third plate at a thanksgiving feast. each one was illuminated in daylight, a full, 360 degree kaleidoscope of color. as the afternoon passed i raced west to keep up, pacing the daylight. i realized if i always head west at sunset my favorite time of day can last forever.

melon and mint. the damnwells. candlelight. tu eres la unica cosa que me hace falta en una noche asi.
