i've never really had an opinion on them. sometimes i like to go through them in spanish, just because it's fun, but on the whole they don't really irk me. i get bothered sometimes when the wachovia lady can't understand me saying, "recent transactions," but that's only because i feel silly screaming "RHEE-CENT TRANS-ACK-TCHIONS" into the phone in a public place. on the whole, they're fine with me, so don't think this i'm here to bash them, on the contrary, i'm here to tell you that today i was amazed by one.
the georgia power automated voice system lady definitely has a southern accent. and it's amazing, and if you have georgia power you should call the customer service line for residential customers just to hear her voice.
and it made me smile. even when they were telling me i couldn't pay over the phone with my credit card without having to call this company called the bill matrix and pay an additional fee. so i had to get out of bed (which turned out being okay since i got to go to ikea with katie culp followed by sushi with oscar, jessie, stephanie, and katie--that poor server hated us. and fyi, it was one of the funniest sushi trips i've ever experienced) and go deposit money into my checking account so i could just pay good ole GA Power via the worldwide web. Because, I mean seriously, who wants to charge ANYTHING to their card via a company called "THE BILL MATRIX?" Not I, my friend, not I. I mean, that doesn't sound like a positive business move to me...i'm just sayin'...
But do listen to the woman with the southern accent. I thought it the cutest thing.
